Biography
Jeroen Erkamp (1973) from Alkmaar is a versatile person. After completing his studies in architecture at Delft University of Technology in 2002, he studied photography for a few years at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. He has been drawing from an early age. His preference for portraits developed gradually. It was not until 2007 that he started working with acrylic paint on canvas. He is inspired by old masters such as Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt and Van Gogh, and the contemporary painters Lucian Freud, Pieter Pander, Sam Drukker and Marlene Dumas.
